The water has started to go down (finally!) It appears as though the rain has stopped for now, and it also looks like I'll be OK. There's supposed to be another set of rain coming up, but it shouldn't be as bad as earlier. The picture on the left is my kitchen, I had packed my truck up with valuables and put what I could up on higher ground.

Water rising!!! The water seems to be rising about an inch or so an hour. At that rate, it looks like I have about 4 hours. Here is a photo of my car port taken about 45 minutes ago. I've started to load my truck with my most loved possestions (mostly electronics). I've just heard they've spotted a tornado a few miles away. There's a video down below of the rainfall at my house.

Fay's still blowing! It was really loud last night & the power went out again. Flooding has started (click here to see pictures). This is very strange. Check out this picture, this was on the steps of my truck this morning. It seems too heavy to blow and it landed right where you see it. It's a lock of some sort. I don't know where it came from, I'm pretty sure it didn't come from my property.

Wow, the wind has gotten worse every hour. It's REALLY loud! It sounds like my windows are going to blow in. My towel is soaked. The rain is coming down pretty hard too. I'm going to try and get some sleep for a bit....more tomorrow...
 

Another Fay update

Fay blows. The wind has been pretty bad, and it looks like it just got worse. I took a video of it earlier today, press play on the video below to view it. It's gotten a bit worse, and the rain has started to come in pretty heavy now, hopefully it won't last long, thought they say Fay is moving 0-2mph.... My back door (the one that faces the ocean) has started to let water in, not because it's rising, but because the rain is hitting it. It's not bad yet, but it's just started. Tropical Storm Fay

Tropical storm Fay is upon me. I've posted some pictures over in the pictures section. The storm is really just starting. The winds are bad (gusts up to 60), the power has gone out for about an hour and has now come back. The worst is yet to come, the heavy rain is expected this evening. More updates later if I don't blow away....

 

Truck update

Just to update all on my truck, since I know you were interested, I bought a grille guard (sometimes called a brush guard) off craigslist yesterday. I got home around 5:30 today and started to look at what's involved in putting this thing on and thought "no big deal." I started taking off the lower bumper (which was a pain) then I noticed I needed to take off the fog lights, and finally, I had to take off the main bumper (heavy!). You can see a picture of the truck here.

Anyway, Since that took 1.5 hrs, I decided to put the lights and the top bumper back. This will have to be an adventure for the weekend....a lot more involved than my side steps.
